Egg Donation & Egg Sharing

Egg donation and egg sharing is offered to women who are having fertility problems, experiencing premature menopause or undergoing radiotherapy or chemotherapy treatments. It also offers a solution to women who are carriers of genetic disorders and don’t want to pass the condition to their baby.

The Fertility & Gynaecology Academy offers a programme that allows a couple requiring assisted conception treatment to share their eggs with another woman for fertility treatment with donated eggs. In return, the couple will not be charged for any fertility treatment they are undergoing such as IVF.

Egg donation and sharing is probably the most wonderful gift a woman can extend to her fellow woman. There are various reasons as to why a woman may need egg donation and sharing. It could be that her biological clock is running out of time, she may have survived cancer or simply has poor quality eggs.

We always endeavor to match the physical characteristics of the recipient and the donor. The egg donors must be under the age of 36 from the time of treatment and preferably without history of genetic disorders and with confirmed fertility. All donors are strictly and thoroughly screened for any transmissible diseases and in most cases, the cycle of the recipient is synchronized with the egg donor. The recipient is also offered counselling to discuss the implications of receiving egg donation.

Being an egg donor or sharer is not simple as there are many requirements to be fulfilled including factors such as age, weight and medical history. If you would like to become an egg donor or sharer, please call The Fertility & Gynaecology Academy to discuss our egg donation and egg sharing programme.
